Kiraitu names Cabinet    

Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and his deputy Titus Ntuchiu have unveiled an all-inclusive list of ten County Executive nominees who will likely constitute their cabinet. The nominees are;
Daniel Kiogora M’ Inoti for Youth Affairs & Sports (Central Imenti),
Prof Karwitha Kiugu for Agriculture for Livestock Development & Fisheries (Imenti North),
Linner Nkirote Kailanya for Education, Technology, Gender, Culture & Social Development (Igembe South)
Julius Taitumu M’Anaiba for Roads, Transport & Energy (Igembe North)
Maingi Mugambi for Trade, Investment, Industrialization, Tourism & Cooperatives (Buuri)
Kiautha Ariithi for Legal Affairs, Public Service Management & Administration (South Imenti),
Jeremiah Lenya M’Iringo for Land, Physical Planning, Urban Development & Public Works (Tigania West),
Misheck Mutuma M’Muyuri for Water & Irrigation (Igembe Central),
Edith Caroline Kagwiria Mutiga for Environment, Wildlife & Natural Resources (Imenti North) and
Eunice Kobia Nkirote for Health Services (Tigania East)
The Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu who will not undergo vetting will be in charge of the Finance and Economic Planning Docket.
The other names will be forwarded to the County Assembly of Meru for vetting. The Governor said the team will play a pivotal role towards the realization of the social, economic and cultural prosperity of our people. "Our proposed County Executive Committee reflects the representation of each of our nine sub-counties with four out of the ten (10) appointees being women. We have made deliberate efforts to bring more women on board in our bid to Making Meru Great," Kiraitu said. On campaign pledges, the Governor said Job creation particularly for our youth, through Meru Youth Service also ranks highly in our priority areas. In our endeavor to Make Meru Great, education to all remains of paramount concern, to which end we have promised to offer free milk to our nursery school-going children as well as make Early Childhood Education and Development (ECDE) free. Infrastructural development particularly upgrading of rural access roads also feature prominently on our list of priority areas. My government will also strive towards the provision of quality, affordable health care.
