New feeder road to ease traffic jam in Meru Town
MERU, October ----Traffic Jam witnessed in Meru town will be a thing of the past if plans by the County Government of Meru and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to construct a new road are actualized. According to Governor Kiraitu Murungi there are plans to construct Gitimbine Junction -Redeemed Church-Irinda -Majengo-Sports Club to bitumen standards. The move will ease the traffic that builds between Kathita Bridge and Gitimbine during rush hours. "Meru town’s rapid economic growth is being slowed down by the traffic jams," Kiraitu added The Governor spoke on Tuesday when KURA officials paid him a courtesy call in his office. He assured the officials that they will cooperate to deliver services to the citizens, saying he is ready to work with the National Government in the best interests of Meru People. He was flanked by his deputy Titus Ntuchiu and Chief of Staff Gideon Kimathi.
