Meru Deputy Governor Titus Ntuchiu has this morning met and held discussions with members of Sustainable Energy Technical Assistant (SETA) Project led by SETA Senior Energy Planner and Economist Mr. Jean Paul Laude and Mr. Dan Marangu from the Ministry of Energy.

The team paid a courtesy call to the DG accompanied by Meru County Executive for Energy Julius Taitumu and other Department officials, to discuss collaborative approaches being undertaken in capacity building for the County Government officers, development of plans and implementation of renewable energy, energy access and energy efficient projects among other institutional support.

DG Ntuchiu noted that the County Government of Meru led by Governor Kiraitu Murungi has implemented various high energy consuming projects such as the over 200 solar powered boreholes, high mast lighting of towns and markets and towns across the County among others, and this project will come in handy especially on training and capacity building for the County officers on effective and efficient planning and implementation of projects and energy management.

"With the development of plans the County will be able to receive more collaboration and funding as well as new investments in the energy sector and other areas of development," he added.
