Governor Kiraitu Murungi has convened a Twaweza Women Empowerment conference in a colorful occasion graced by Cabinet Secretary Public Service and Gender, Prof . Margret Kobia and Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana. Through TWAWEZA women groups will also benefit from a 27 million seed Capital from women enterprise fund.

Governor Murungi noted that the Twaweza was key in giving equal opportunity to women as well as ensuring economic inclusion that would in turn give them political muscle and strength for political involvement as women leaders.

Prof. Kobia said the reason why the women under TWAWEZA would benefit was because of eleborate financial literacy skills the groups had been impacted by Governor Kiraitu regime.

Deputy Governor Hon.Titus Ntuchiu, in his sentiments said the county would also support market search for various products these women have produced after gaining financial support from the County.

Also present was CAS public service , Beatrice Elachi, public service principal secretary Mary Kimonye and Maendeleo ya wanawake Kenya Rahab Mwikali.
