Governors Wants Timely Release Of National Sharable Revenue Allocation To Counties.
H.E Governor Bishop kawira Mwangaza today joined her colleagues for a Council of Governors meeting. The meeting was held at the Nairobi CoG headquarters to discuss the ideal issues common to all the county Governments.
Key agenda discussed were delayed disbursement of the equitable share of revenue, which has hindered efficient service delivery to the mwananchi and paralyzed county operations, especially in payment of salaries, response to drought and purchase of medical supplies.
The Governors also extended their call to the legislators in the Senate and the National assembly, urging them to prioritize re-introducing the County Government Additional Allocations Bill, 2022, on the house floor. This will facilitate the completion of key development projects and better the health and agricultural systems in the counties.
Of critical mention also was the directive from the budget controller stating that no salaries would be paid outside the payroll, exposing the casual employees to the risk of not receiving their salaries. The county governments agreed to provide the necessary information to facilitate their payments.
