Food Shortage Will Be A Thing Of The Past In Meru County.

The governor later flagged off distribution of 250 50kg bags of rice and 280 50kg bags of beans at Timau, Buuri West Sub-county. She encouraged beneficiaries to view this relief food distribution exercise as a short term measure meant to give them sustenance as they go out to fend for their families.
Governor Kawira expressed a resolve to work together with the national government and the county assembly to ensure that provision of adequate water in all parts of the County to support agricultural practices. Food shortage will be a thing of the past in Meru County.
She urged the people of Meru to be on the lookout for any private business owners or government officials who steal relief food meant for struggling families with an intention of reselling it. She asked for such reports to be brought to her so that she can ensure that perpetrators face the full force of the law.
