This afternoon during her developmental tour, Meru Governor H.E Bishop Kawira Mwangaza commissioned a borehole adjacent to St. Mark Primary School at Kiutine, Athiru Rujine Ward. This borehole will be used by the school and the community surrounding it. This is the seventh borehole since she assumed office.

The Governor reiterated her commitment to eradicate water scarcity in every corner of Meru county. She indicated her administration's determination to deliver the women of Meru from the age old oppression of fetching and carrying heavy jerrycans of water on their backs for long distances. One village after the other, it shall surely be achieved.

Governor Kawira promised not to lift her foot from the pedal of developmental pursuit. She declared that her aim of seeking leadership was to ease the suffering of the most vulnerable in Meru community. As a mother and a leader who has a great dream for the people of Meru, she pledged that she will work with every like minded individual, group or organization to ensure mwananchi's access to water, education, good roads, health services and other forms of progress.

Further, the Governor promised to partner with the national government to bring a stop to the ongoing wanton destruction of farm produce by stray elephants.
