The Governor of Meru County H.E Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza has today joined colleague leaders, congregants and clergy at Athi Catholic Parish in Igembe South Sub-county as they welcomed the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, H.E Mrs. Rachel Ruto.

During her visit, the First Lady handed over a vehicle to the parish priest and joined in raising funds to enable construction of the priest's rectory on behalf of the President H.E Dr. William Ruto.

Governor Kawira expressed gratitude to God for using President Ruto as an agent of peace in Meru County. She affirmed that the Executive and the assembly are now united and committed to diligently serving the people of Meru who bestowed the great mandate of leadership upon them.

Further, Governor Kawira urged fellow Christians to always remember the source of their blessings and embrace hearts full of thanksgiving.

Also present was Agriculture CS Hon. Mithika Linturi, Igembe South MP Hon. John Paul Mwirigi, Igembe North MP Hon. Julius Taitumu, Tigania West MP Hon. John Mutunga, a delegation from the County Assembly of Meru led by their speaker Hon. Ayub Bundi, among other leaders.
