A Mother's Love: Governor Kawira's Compassionate Visit.
To mark International Women's Day, Meru Governor H.E Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza shared a mother's love by visiting women at the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital maternity ward and Nyambene Level Four Hospital maternity and pediatric ward.
She went bearing hundreds of gift hampers for the women who are expecting babies as well as those who have already delivered. Each gift hamper contained disposable diapers, 2kgs of rice, 2kgs of wheat flour, 2kgs of maize flour, a bar soap, a baby shawl and 1litre of cooking oil.
Further, in line with her commitment to eradicate preventable blindness and promote eye health, Governor Kawira also received ultramodern eye diagnostic machines at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital. The equipment included a portable eye ultrasound and an ophthalmic microscope. These state of the art machines will enable eye health services to be rolled out to all the Sub-counties.
