Updated on: Jul 07, 2023
The county government of Meru links it development plans to other set development agendas such as the Sustainable Development Goals meant to be achieved by 2030. One of the targets set to be achieved by SDG 3; Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, calls for governments to ensure that by 2030, neonatal mortality rates are reduced to as low as 12 per 1000 live births.
Currently, neonatal mortality rates in Meru County stand at 20 deaths per 1000 births. Partnering with Hatch Technology, which will ensure distribution and maintenance of modernized machines to newborn units in different hospitals across the county is a crucial step to ascertain that the current rate is reduced to that of the set goal.
H.E. Governor Bishop Kawira Mwangaza is devoted to ensure that the Health Sector, which is a devolved function, is at its best, for Meru to be healthy and happy.
