Governor Mutuma MEthingia Launches FLLoCA Climate Resilience Programme In Meru County.

Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a greener and more climate-resilient Meru County, founded on the understanding that the environment, water, and agriculture are deeply interconnected. Recognizing that when one suffers, all are at risk, the Governor officially launched the distribution of FLLoCA Climate Resilience items to strengthen communities across Meru County.

Through this strategic programme, vulnerable and marginalized households are being equipped with practical tools to withstand climate shocks and improve their quality of life. The initiative will benefit the community with:

  • 8,125 water tanks for rainwater harvesting

  • 364 dairy goats to boost nutrition and household income

  • 1,000 LPG gas cylinders for clean and safe cooking

  • 1,000 kitchen garden kits to enhance food security

The Governor emphasized that these items are not handouts but strategic investments in dignity, resilience, and long-term sustainability for the people of Meru.

He expressed his gratitude to FLLoCA programme partners, the national government, and all stakeholders championing locally-led climate action, noting that their collaboration demonstrates the power of working together for a stronger and greener future.

Governor M’Ethingia was accompanied by his team of CECMs, the County Attorney, and Members of the County Assembly, led by Meru Municipality MCA, Hon. Caleb Mutethia.
