DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION
• Recruited and deployed 10 Chief officers, 18 Directors, 10 Sub-county Administrators, 3 Town Administrators & 45 ward administrators.
• Procured and distributed drugs and non-pharmaceuticals worth Kshs. 126,167,606.00 for all health facilities in all sub-counties
DEPARTMENT OF LANDS, ECONOMIC AND PHYSICAL PLANNING
• Adjudication process is largely complete in Tigania and Igembe and 62,000 title deeds are being processed.
• Spatial plan for Meru town and Turingwi "A" is complete. Timau and Liki is ongoing.
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES
• Funded development of 140 fish ponds across all sub-counties (15 - 20 ponds per sub-county). 127 complete.
• Tendered Development of greenhouse hatchery pond in Buuri Sub County
• Procured animal vaccines worth Kshs. 6,378,600
DEPARTMENT OF WATER, ENVIRONMENT& NATURAL RESOURCES
• Survey and designs seven dams have been done (Ngatho, Tantha, and two along Thangatha and ura -rivers, others in Mt Kenya Forest..
• Supply of pipes to improve water distribution Systems in Maua town, Maili Tatu- Muringene, Tigania East, Tigania West, North Imenti, Central Imenti, Buuri and Imenti south
DEPARTMENT OF GENDER, CULTURE, SPORTS, AND SOCIAL SERVICES
• Meru county Marathon held in 2013
• Street children rehabilitation - 114 children profiled and taken to St. Francis rehabilitation centre in Chaaria (Kathwene) in Imenti central. The children were placed in two different homes - St. Clare for girls and St. Francis home for the boys.
DEPARTMENT OF COOPERATIVES, ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT &TOURISM
• Meru Coffee Mills - The county government has funded (2.5 M) the Meru central farmers’ Cooperative Union to hire the KPCU Meru mills to facilitate farmers to mill and market Meru coffee directly from Meru.
• Women, Youth and General Traders SACCOs in every Sub County - The County Government has given a grant (seed money) of Kshs. 1M for each SACCO in every Ward (Kshs 3M per ward). 49,000 members already registered in the SACCOs.
• Construction of 45km probase road in each of the nine subcounties and 5km in our major urban centres (Meru, Maua, Nkubu and Timau) at a cost of kshs. 900,000,000 - Pilot project (Kirindine - Miathene road) 10km is under procurement process. Funded by Exim Bank of Malaysia at 3%.
• 0.45km cabro paving of Nevada Junct. - Makutano Bank Road Loop worth Kshs. 13M is ongoing
• Installation of 20 No. floodlights at a cost of kshs.10M on going.
