Meru County Launches Capacity Assessment Exercise

The Meru County Governor H.E. Peter Munya officially launched the County Capacity Assessment and Rationalization of the Public Service (CARPS): Biometric Data Capture.

Governor Munya, who was accompanied by his deputy Raphael Muriungi, County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, and Meru County Commissioner among other delegates led the Meru County Staff in the crucial exercise.

In his address, the Governor called on all members of staff to take the exercise seriously as this will go a long way in helping fill the existing gaps and get the clear picture of what type of staff are needed where.

The objective of the programme is to undertake strategic reviews of the organisational structures, functions and staffing of the national and county public service against their respective mandates.

The rationalisation exercise will involve carrying out capacity assessment, restructuring, undertaking human resource and skills audit, staff redeployment and transfers, where necessary after capturing and analysing biometric data.
