MERU COUNTY ACQUIRES DIALYSIS MACHINES


Meru County Government has acquired 5 state of the art Dialysis machines that are expected to provide a huge relief to the victims of kidney disease in Meru County and beyond.
The machines which will be commissioned by Governor Peter Munya on Wednesday 17th December, 2014 will handle 10 patients daily.
Dr. Moraa the CEC in charge of health at Meru County Government says the Hospital’s new renal unit will be of a huge reprieve to the increasing Kidney failure victims in the region. This is part of the efforts of Governor Munya led government to raise the standards of operations of all hospitals across the county.
Dialysis is a life - sustaining process that cleans waste products from the blood, removes extra fluids and controls the body’s chemistry when a person kidney fail. Dialysis patients typically requires treatment on an ongoing basis unless they receive a kidney transplant.
Reacting to the development Mr. Kinoti Muthomi a resident, says "I am very happy about the installation the 5 dialysis machines at Meru Level Hospital. Our County will be better, this is what we have wanted for the past many years and thank God for this installation by the administration of H.E. Governor Peter Munya"
