Governor Munya Commissions Kianjai Mikinduri Probase Road

Meru Governor H.E Peter Munya officially commissioned Kianjai - Miathene - Mikinduri (D484) Probase Road. The 10km -Road is a crucial link that which connects Kianjai and Mikinduri shopping centers in Tigania West and Tigania West sub- counties respectively.
The construction of the road started early this year after Probase Manufacturing Sdn.Bhd of Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) late last year.
Speaking during the commissioning Governor Munya said the average cost of tarmacking a kilometer of road using Probase technology cost about Ksh. 30 million compared to conventional bitumen technology that costs Ksh. 80 million per kilometer.
Meru county government is expected to construct a further 300km, with each sub-county allocated 30km of probase tarmac. Governor Munya urged the national government to speed up the signing of sovereign guarantee to enable his government access the credit from Exim Bank to fund the 300km roads.
Governor Munya was joined by Governors Moses Akaranga (Vihiga) Martin Wambora (Embu) Amb. Ukur Yatani (Marsabit) Nadhif Jama (Garissa) Patrick Khaemba(Trans Nzoia) David Nkedianye Samuel Ragwa (Tharaka Nithi) and several deputy- governors.
