The long - awaited construction of Maua Town Ring Road got underway on Thursday when Governor Peter Munya officially launched the project.

The commencement of construction of the road is good news to the residents of the town as they have waited for the upgrade for decades. Maua Town is the second biggest urban center in Meru County.

Speaking at the launch, Governor Munya said the project is intended to open up all the areas of the densely populated town and encourage growth in those areas.

The 3km Ring Road project will be financed by Meru County Government
