MERU COUNTY MICRO FINANCE STARTS OPERATIONS

Governor Peter Munya on Wednesday opened Meru County Micro finance initial branch in Maua town.He will also open the Meru town branch on friday.
The newest micro lender in the market will exclusively serve micro entrepreneurs through group - based model in the vast county.
''Our Government will continue to pump more resources to the grassroots for the citizens to enjoy the gains of devolution'' Munya said.
The Meru Governor who spoke when he launched he first micro finance to be owned by a county government said he will strive to get more to the counties in his capacity as the chair of the governors council.
The Trade Executive Ntoitha M'mithiaru praised the Governor’s commitment to the job creation strategy, saying the future looks brighter.
We have acquired all the licenses required for the business from the Central Bank of Kenya ," Executive Mithiaru assured
The lender's board chairperson promised the management will be professional devoid of regional politics. She also invited residents and partners for the mega launch on friday at Meru Teachers College grounds.
Other Speakers were Deputy Governor Raphael Muriungi, former Ntonyiri MP Maoka Maore, several members of the County Assembly and other local leaders.
