KIRAITU APPEALS FOR A COLLABORATED EFFORT IN UPLIFTING THE COUNTY'S EDUCATION STANDARDS.

Governor Kiraitu and his Deputy Titus Ntuchiu, have alongside the New Education Board Chair, Prof. George Muthaa, who is also a renown Chuka University lecturer, Mr. George Thuo, County TSC Deputy Director, and Newton Nzioka, County Director of Education, deliberated on how to upscale Meru's education standards.
The Governor said his administration's move to work towards improving the quality of education from quantity to quality, through excellence. This has been informed by sequential deteriorating of KCPE and KCSE performance.
He appealed for parents and teachers support to the board in raising standards and changing the perception Meru's performance has.
Prof. Muthaa who is passionate about a collaborated effort in creating synergies with all the education stakeholders for improved performance, thanked the County government's effort to boost education though is not a function.
He said education is an economic enabler and also the future of human resource hence, worth supporting.
The team will be meeting principals at a later date. Gender and Social Development Chief Officer, Lewis Mwirigi, who was also present, will be representing the County Government.
