Meru has acquired a LEEP machine that is key to detection of early cancer signs in women. CECM Meshack Mutuma, said the machine would go along way in the treatment of cancer reducing the high cancer prevalence in the county.He spoke at Meru teaching and referal Hospital when he handed the equipment to the hospital.
'' We are here to create awareness of the presence of this machine in our facility and women should utilize the machine for early detection of cervical cancer " said Mr Mutuma.
The CEC intimated those tested positive for cancer would get free treatment.
Ms purity Kathambi the Nursing Matron said patients were forced to make long queues waiting for patients to treat women and this would come to a stop.
Ms Kathambi thanked the management for bringing promptly this critical equipment.
