County government set to supplement the National Hygiene Program "Kazi Mtaani," as a continued move to address the national youth problem.

In a courtesy call by Mining PS Peter Kaberia, who presided over Program launch for Buuri East Subcounty, Governor Kiraitu stated his government will support the initiative through Meru Youth Service, in massive hygiene and town beautification programs, to address the youth question he termed as being most complicated to handle by the two tiers of government. This will also involve MYS men and women trained in relevant trade, in painting public facilities and commercial buildings.

At Kiirua, the PS stated that citizens expects development, which can't be possible with a divided leadership. This, he said both Meru and National government are working together to uplift lives and no one should be blind to see what the two are doing. About 3700 Meru youth have benefited from the program, amongst other intervention aimed at deadening Meru residents from Covid-19 effects.

Area MP. Rindikiri Mugambi was assertive on the readiness to work with both county and national governments, at whatever cost, for the sake of his constituents.

Chief of Staff, Gedion Kimathi, County Secretary Rufus Miriti a like, stated the public won't mind getting development from whatever corner and not any form of noise.
According to Kimathi, one of the fruits of successful collaborations, is Meru Vision 2040 whose implementation is underway. He associated all cabro paving works across towns and markets in the county with Kiraitu's agenda envisioned in the vision 2040 strategy.
