Department of Water and irrigation has embarked in a process of supporting water management committees who have embarked in piping water to over 1000 homesteads in Athwana ward , Tigania west from the Governor Kiraitus Government flagship projects of boreholes.

During an inspection tour led by CECM Water , Dr Eunice Nkirote and the Leader of Majority and area MCA Victor Kaarithi emphasized on the need for empowering communities who have started piping water in their homes by government supporting in setting up of community tanks and protecting water towers through conservation around boreholes.
