TOP COUNTY LEADERSHIP TOURS TO ASSESS ONGOING WORKS OF UPGRADING HISTORICAL MUJWA NKUBU ROAD.

Meru Deputy Governor Hon. Titus Ntuchiu has this afternoon led a high level team of County Government officials in the inspection of the ongoing tarmacking of Mitunguu-Mujwa-Nkubu road, which is being undertaken by the administration under able leadership of Governor Kiraitu Murungi. Speaking during the tour, Hon. Ntuchiu noted the road has been a historical bother and even caused deaths and injuries for the residents of lower South Imenti(Mitunguu area), and Central Imenti (in Mujwa) which is a grain/bread basket of the County, accounting for most of the bananas and other agricultural produce which feed Meru County and beyond.

The DG observed that although the role of tarmacking roads does not fall under the purview of the County Governments, Governor Kiraitu wants all the presidents to fully enjoy and be part of the Making Meru Great vision, and has thus, designated a portion of the limited resources allocated to the County, to ensure this and other roads across Meru are upgraded to low volume tarmac standard.

Hon. Ntuchiu announced that upgrading and improving of roads infrastructure is currently ongoing in all the three regions of Meru County in Imenti, Tigania and Igembe sub counties. He was accompanied by County Executive for Roads, Transport and Energy Julius Taitumu, Department PS George Kimathi Kobia and the Director, Eng. Susan Kalaine among other officers.
