Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was elected Governor for Meru county on August the year 2022 .She was born in 1973. She's married to Robert Murega Rimbera. She grew up with her mother after passing on of her father when she was young and this forced her to do menial jobs in her neighbourhood in order to assist her mother cater for the daily needs of her junior siblings.

She holds a Bachelors of Guidance and counselling from Kampala International University, Bachelor's of arts in Transformational Leadership from Pan African University and a Certificate in Human Resources from Makerere University, she schooled in Moyale Girls, marsabit county for her highschool education; O- levels as well as CCM Ontulili in Buuri Subcounty for her primary education.

Governor Kawira is an accomplished grassroots mobilizer and a philanthropist. Through her personal social Development initiatives, she started revolutionary programs like "Okolea kaana Ka Miiru" that means " Save the Meru Child" through myriad of programs that focuses on community empowerment through education, lifting the welfare of the marginalized including People living with Disabilities and the poor .

She unsuccessfully vied for Buuri Constituency Parliamentary seat in 2013, however this did not deter her passion and determination of transforming the lives of her people.She later got elected in the 2017 general elections as the woman representative for Meru county, she has been a member of a powerful House Business Committee and the Departmental committee for Communication, Innovation and Information.

In parliament she passed legislation that ensured Meru is well represented and took to task various government institutions, notably cabinet secretary for education on quality of constructions in schools and vocational institutions to guarantee safety of learners , Cabinet secretary for labour and Social protection on Employment list for People Living with Disabilities in government institutions and taken to task government institutions that are geared towards Guaranteeing food security in the country.

Her story is a classical one, from grass to grace.

Before joining politics, she started small businesses like cake baking which in turn led to a successful hardware business.She later opened several branches around upper eastern.

Governor kawira also Ventured into the communication and Media business where she opened the first Kimeru Tv station known as Baite Tv.

She is a born again Christian and a bishop at Baite Family Fellowship church.
