It’s an administrative sub-county of Meru. It’s also a parliamentary constituency. Igembe North has the least number of registered voters constituting 8.9 per cent of the total registered voters. This shows that there is a sizeable percentage of the population that is unregistered, hence the need for more civic education on voter registration in the future.

Projects underway in Igembe North

• Offices for the registration of ownership which will deal with issuance of land certificates
• Urban area plans for sub-county counties which will produce urban/town plans for seven county headquarters
