It’s an administrative sub-county of Meru. It’s also a parliamentary constituency. Igembe South district had the largest land . The high population density in Igembe south is attributed to high fertile land which is good for farming.

Projects underway in Igembe South

• To make Igembe South be a provider for water to sub-counties
• Offices for the registration of ownership which will deal with issuance of land certificates
• A hatchery for warm fish fingerings
• To provide Igembe North with a refrigerated truck and cooler boxes to avoid losses during harvesting of fishes
