On County Infrastructure

In Malasya last month we sealed the deal for funding of our roads. One of the major milestones achieved by my government this year has been securing funding for 300 kilometers roads from the Malaysian government. The roads are to be made using a technology that is way cheaper than the one that is currently in use. A kilometer of Tarmac at the market rate now costs 70 million while these roads will cost Ksh. 23 million per kilometer without compromising on the quality.
The first phase of 50 km roads is scheduled to start in January 2014. This phase will take a year to complete. The second phase comprising the remaining 250 kilometers which will see the major roads in Meru County tarmacked by the year 2016 thereby improving the transport and communication infrastructure in our County.
