The Ministry of Health in partnership with the Kenya Red Cross Society through the county's department of Health Services, are carrying out a training for Community Health Assistants (CHAs) and Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) on Epidemic Preparedness and Response in Communities, which was officially opened on Monday for three days at the county headquarters and also in Laare, Igembe North.
The training is meant to aid the assistants and volunteers in a comprehensive overview of disease outbreaks response, in this case the cholera endemic, in order to improve prevention, preparedness and timely response to stop outbreaks and ultimately save lives.
