The visit by the Senate Standing Committee on Health is an eye-opener, providing valuable insights into the state of healthcare services in Meru County. During their tour, the Committee visited three facilities namely, Timau Sub-County Hospital, Kibirichia Sub-County Hospital, and the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital (MeTRH).

The Committee commended MeTRH for its exemplary work in several departments, notably the Renal Unit, ICU, modern pediatric ward, and the mental health unit. These facilities were recognized for setting high standards in service delivery and infrastructure.

However, the team also highlighted areas requiring urgent attention, and as the Meru county Governor, H.E Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia is fully committed to taking swift and decisive action adress these gaps.
