The Governor of Meru County, H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M'Ethingia, officially opened the 2025 Meru County Vocational Training Centre Ball Games Competition at Kaaga Primary School. The event served as a vibrant showcase of the passion and potential that young people in Meru possess.

The Governor emphasized that the competition represents more than just a sports event. It symbolizes a broader commitment by the County Government to support and uplift the youth through empowerment and opportunity.

As part of these efforts, the County Government has continued to fund vocational training centres to strengthen skills development and boost job creation across the region. In collaboration with the National Government, the County is also working to reclaim Kinoru Stadium and advance youth-focused initiatives such as the upcoming "Mwanki" Festival. Additionally, plans are underway to revive the Tujiajiri Programme to open up more avenues for employment and entrepreneurship.

The Governor was joined at the event by Deputy Governor H.E. Lindah Kiome, Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Mbijiwe, CECM Hon. Elias Murega, Municipality MCA Hon. Caleb Mutethia, and Nkuene Ward MCA Hon. Martin Makasi.
