H.E. Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia Hosts Office Of The Auditor General For County Audit Entry Meeting

H.E. Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia today hosted a team from the Office of the Auditor General during an entry meeting marking the commencement of the County Government's constitutional and statutory audit exercise.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to transparency, accountability, and the prudent management of public resources, emphasizing that every shilling entrusted to the County Government must be utilized efficiently, lawfully, and for the benefit of the people of Meru.

The audit will assess key governance and financial management areas, including regulatory and management compliance, budget credibility and the budget cycle, human resource management, establishment controls, management of unclaimed financial assets, internal audit systems, institutional linkages, and adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks. It will also evaluate the lawfulness, efficiency, and effectiveness of public resource utilization across County government institutions.

H.E. Governor Mutuma M'Ethingia welcomed the audit process as an important mechanism for strengthening governance, enhancing financial accountability, and improving service delivery, reaffirming his administration's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsible leadership in the ongoing effort to build a more accountable and prosperous Meru.
