GOVERNOR MUTUMA SUPER CUP ENDS IN GRAND STYLE, CROWNING CHAMPIONS AFTER EIGHT MONTHS OF THRILLING COMPETITION.

The Governor Mutuma Super Cup concluded in spectacular fashion over the weekend, bringing to an end more than eight months of thrilling competition that featured over 650 teams from across Meru County.
In a gripping men's final, Limauru FC edged Kauthene Youngsters 7-6 in a penalty shootout after a tightly contested match to lift the title and walk away with the KSh.1 million grand prize. Kauthene Youngsters finished as runners-up, earning KSh.750,000.
In the women's final, Mwariama FC produced a dominant display to defeat Flamingo Queens 2-0, clinching the championship and the KSh.1 million winners' prize. Flamingo Queens received KSh. 750,000 as runners-up.
The men's third-place playoff saw Kemu FC defeat Maua United in another penalty shootout to secure third place and KSh.500,000, while Maua United earned KSh.300,000. In the women's category, Simba Queens overcame Akuune Queens to finish third and pocket KSh.500,000, with Akuune Queens receiving KSh.300,000.
Teams that progressed to the Round of 16 were also rewarded with cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
The finals weekend also featured exciting athletics competitions, with winners in the 3,000m, 1,500m, 800m, 200m, 100m and 4×100m relay events receiving cash awards.
More than just a sporting event, the Governor Mutuma Super Cup has become a powerful platform for transforming lives by combating drug and substance abuse, reducing teenage pregnancies and gender-based violence, while nurturing talent, empowering young people and strengthening community cohesion through sport.
