WORLD CANCER DAY BEARS FRUIT







After a successful World Cancer Day , Amphath one of the service provider brought the results of 1000 patients who were screened for cancer during that day.Amphath organization claims over 20 patients screened tested positive .
Mr Daniel Kimaita , Head of county Reproductive Health services, said the results were a motivation to ensure similar cancer screening camps were organized across the county. Mr Kimaita added the county has a new oncology center in which cancer services were being offered.
Amphath , Program manager Edwin Odoyo Said cancer being the third major cause of death was a major reason the organization was working on cancer activities. "We patnered with the Meru county due to their commitment to fighting cancer" said Mr Odoyo.
With a team of oncologists , they advised patients on the treatment of cancer and ways of ensuring it does not spread. Dr Nicholas of Ampath urged people to have regular cancer checkups to ensure early detection and finding ways of preventing the spread of Cancer.
