DIRECTORATE OF EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS AND AFFAIRS

OVERVIEW OF THE DIRECTORATE.

The Directorate of External Partnerships and affairs is under the office of the Governor, established in 2018 by the current county government regime to advance Meru County interest nationally and globally through innovative diplomacy, searching and pursuing opportunities that will add value to Meru County strategic interests.

The Department fulfills this, through a broad range of activities, including;

1. Proactive and Reactive Grant Seeking for priority projects in all county ministries and departments

Such as; fundraising for Mt Kenya Run to raise funds for the cancer center.

2. Linking the county government ministries with external partners both local and international organizations (Corporates, NGO’S and National Government Ministries).

3. Organizing stakeholder’s networking events and Forums working closely with Meru County Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) network.

4. Organizing various high level meetings and forums at the county hosting high level dignitaries and ambassadorial delegations

5. Facilitating processing of VISAS applications request for Meru county government officials travelling on official business abroad and

6. Championing County long term development blue print dubbed MESC vision 2040 in collaboration with other key departments at the county
