Kianjai and Nchiru residents express anticipatory excitement over governor Kiraitu's mega cabro and floodlighting
that have turned their markets from muddy, filthy and poor drainage state to dust-free business environment.
The governor had promised to change the face of Kianjai (regional cereals, fresh produce and livestock) market while he campaigned for gubernatorial seat.
While launching the two markets today, Kiraitu outlined his leaderships transformative agenda his government undertook to address cross-sector development and create a balance among Igembe, Tigania and Imenti regions. He also declared his support for the BBI report which he said if passed, will increase his Ward Development Fund from the current sh.20million to about sh. 40million per Ward.
He thanked the national leadership for the appointment of Dr. Kilemi Mwiria as the chairperson of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority.
Deputy Governor Ntuchiu asked the people of Meru to rally behind the governor, attributing the county's transformation to Kiraitu's political goodwill and inclusive governance
Dr. Kilemi Kilemi equally praised the governor for taking affirmative action to transform Tigania and Igembe regions which were historically marginalized, and cautioned people against development chasers.
